Privacy Policy for GOOBS

This Privacy Policy explains how Jónþór Hill Jakobsson ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the GOOBS mobile application ("the App"). By using GOOBS, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

GOOBS is developed by Jónþór Hill Jakobsson, an individual developer based in Iceland. For all privacy-related questions or requests, contact: support@jonthordev.com

2. Information We Collect

We only collect data needed to run the App and the services it integrates with. The following data is collected:

Device identifiers

• Android Advertising ID (used by Google AdMob to serve ads)
• Firebase Installation ID (anonymous identifier used by Firebase Analytics)

App usage data

• Game events (sessions started, screens viewed, in-app actions)
• Performance and diagnostic data (crashes, app launches, session length)

User-provided content

• The nickname you choose if you submit a score to the leaderboard. Nicknames are visible to other players on the leaderboard.

Purchase information

• When you make an in-app purchase, Google Play Billing handles the transaction. We do not see or store your payment details. We only receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, real-world location, contacts, photos, files, messages, browsing history, financial account details, or health data.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

GOOBS integrates the following services, each with their own privacy practices:

Google AdMob — serves banner ads, rewarded ads (your choice), and occasional interstitial ads. Uses your Android Advertising ID for ad relevance. Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google Firebase (Analytics) — measures how the App is used so we can improve it. Privacy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Google Firebase (Firestore) — stores the leaderboard nickname and score you submit. Privacy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Google Play Billing — processes in-app purchases. Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.

4. How We Use This Information

We use the data we collect to:

• Operate the App and its leaderboard
• Show ads (including rewarded ads at your choice)
• Process in-app purchases
• Understand how the App is used so we can fix bugs and improve features
• Maintain the security and integrity of the App

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for any purpose not described in this policy.

5. Children's Privacy

GOOBS is rated for ages 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, contact support@jonthordev.com and we will delete it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws (GDPR / UK-GDPR):

• Right to access the data we hold about you
• Right to correct inaccurate data
• Right to request deletion of your data
• Right to object to processing
• Right to data portability
• Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

If you are a California resident (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to request deletion of personal information
• Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

To exercise any of these rights, email support@jonthordev.com with your request. Because the leaderboard nickname is the only directly identifying piece of data we hold, please include the nickname you used so we can locate your data.

7. How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your data:

1. Email support@jonthordev.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"
2. Include the leaderboard nickname you used (if applicable) so we can locate your entry
3. We will delete your leaderboard entry within 30 days and confirm by email
4. Data held by third-party services (AdMob, Firebase Analytics) can be managed through their own settings. To reset your Android Advertising ID, go to Settings > Google > Ads on your device.

We do not currently offer an in-app deletion button. We respond to email requests within 30 days as required by GDPR.

8. Data Retention

• Leaderboard nicknames and scores: retained until you request deletion, or until we discontinue the leaderboard service
• Analytics data: retained per Firebase's default retention policies (up to 14 months)
• Advertising data: managed by Google AdMob per their retention policies

9. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS to encrypt all data in transit between the App and our services. Third-party services we use (Google AdMob, Firebase, Play Billing) maintain industry-standard security practices.

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. We do our best to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the Play Store listing.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Iceland. Any disputes arising under this policy will be resolved in Icelandic courts, except where local consumer protection laws give you the right to use your local courts.
